Last week, I started talking about self-love and how that plays into our anxiety and negative thinking. In The Hart Habits, I break down four separate parts of self-love for us to consider, and last video, I dove into the first part, boundaries.

Today, I’ll talk about the second part of self-love, which is knowing and embracing our natural strengths.
When I say strengths, what does that make you think?
I always thought I knew what my strengths were. I was gregarious, outgoing, and competent in many situations, so I believed my strengths were related to leadership, spreadsheets, scheduling, etc.
Then I found this great resource called the Clifton Strengths Finder.

The Clifton Strengths Finder results from data collected from over 25,000,000 people to help them identify their strengths. When Don Clifton served as the leader of the Gallup organization (responsible for the worldwide Gallup Poll that has been collected since 1934), he was able to take his research about developing human potential to a much greater audience, and the results are a goldmine for each of us.
I encourage you to take the hour-long assessment. You can purchase the book and get the evaluation for free or purchase the assessment alone at their website.
Over a decade ago, this process taught me that my strengths are: activator, futuristic, relator, connectedness, and learner.
Since then, I have used my strengths to develop my coaching and consulting work and The Hart Habits.

When we know and work in our strengths, it gives us a lot more opportunity to feel fulfilled and like the contribution we’re making in the world is high value for the effort.
You deserve to be valued for what you bring to the table, Honey, you do. You’re awesome.
So, if you haven’t done it before, today is the day.
Take a moment to figure out what your strengths are.
What helps you bring your best to the table?
And if you aren’t using your strengths regularly in your day-to-day life, that could be contributing to your anxiety and negative thinking. If you’re not great at what you’re spending your time doing, it can be hard to focus on what is great about you.
But trust me, EVERYONE has specific and unique strengths. There are no right or wrong ones.
The Clifton Strengths Finder says there are 34 core strengths, and knowing your top 5 can significantly impact how you value yourself.
Having the opportunity to work in them or build a business based on them is one of the ways to create the life of your dreams. <3
